During the call-for-entries period of the NexTv Web Series and Indie Film Competition in which “The Unemployed” is participating, there’s a peer-voting “Shortcut to the Finals.” Each Month, the project with the top votes gets to bypass the selection process and go straight to the finals of the overall competition. The industry heavy-weights involved are huge (ICM, GERSH, DISNEY, FOX, WARNER BROS.), so getting to the finals is extremely significant!

Here’s how to vote for “The Unemployed:”

1. Go to http://www.nextventertainment.com/votes.php.
2. Find “Eddie Deirmenjian” on the page, or type it in the search bar on the right just above the list of submissions.
3. Click on VOTE.

We made a sizzle reel to pitch “The Unemployed” for TV! It best represents the overall arc of the web series’s first season, showing what it is and where it is going. So, there are a few clips to tease episodes 8, 9, and 10… Since the Pink Slip Mixer, Oskar, Crystal, and Kent have had a rough 72 hours!

The Unemployed Season Finale or Bust

We are currently writing episodes 8, 9, and 10 to bring the first season of “The Unemployed” web TV series to a close! Production on all three episodes is slated for the end of the summer. Needless to say, we’re all extremely excited! From production technique to storytelling method, this show has come a long way since the first few episodes. The madcap adventures of Oskar, Crystal, and Kent have evolved (and will continue to evolve) in some very interesting aspects…

Though we’ve been on a brief hiatus since episode 7, we’ve been exceedingly busy! The Group Collectively continues to work on numerous projects in various stages of development. Additionally, Justy and Jon wrapped on the indie, thriller feature film, “Territory 8,” with Emmy Award-nominated director Kelly Schwarze. Despite our increasingly active schedules, our priority is to continue to create quality episodes of “The Unemployed.”

“The Unemployed” Accepted into LAWEBFEST 2012

2012 LAWEBFEST Official Selection

It’s a great honor for “The Unemployed” to be one of the first 50 entries accepted into LAWEBFEST 2012! The entire cast and crew is thrilled to screen alongside so many other talented filmmakers. Episode 1, “The Unemployment Mixer,” and episode 5, “The Interview, Part 2,” will screen at the festival, which takes place April 6-8 at the Radisson Hotel at Los Angeles Airport.
